Creative Lighting Workshop
Jasen Hudson will be holding a photography workshop on Sunday February 21st at 2pm. This workshop will be focused on Creative Lighting techniques. The use of studio strobes in conjunction with camera mounted flashes, LED lights, household bulbs and fluorescent lighting. The purpose of this workshop will be to educate and expose new and experienced photographers to different lighting techniques and how to obtain creative results with the combination or single use of alternative lighting.
The format of the workshop is such:
The first part of the workshop will consist of a brief overview of the benefits of shooting in camera RAW.
We will continue the workshop by an overview of studio strobes, settings, and light modifiers such as Umbrellas, Softboxes, Beauty Dishes, Snoots, Barnyard Doors, etc. This portion of the workshop will be focused on allowing you to learn more about the use of studio strobes and what the use of different light modifiers will do for your photography.
The next part of the workshop will consist of introducing the use of alternative lighting and adjusting your camera settings to capture your subject using only these types of lighting. We will explore the benefits and drawbacks to using this type of lighting, camera settings, additional tips and tricks of shooting with conventional/alternative lighting.
We will then move forward and work on combining different types of lighting together, LED with strobes, strobes with conventional light strobes with strobes, etc. There will be professional models and make-up artists at the studio throughout the workshop for you to use to practice the techniques that you’ve learned, or to get critiques on your current method of shooting.
The final part of the workshop will be a forum type manner, where you can ask any questions regarding what was covered in the workshop, or any other questions you may have relating to photography. You can prepare questions ahead of time, certain lighting/photography techniques that I have used, camera settings, etc.
There will be a limit of 10 attendees for this workshop. Slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
